Find Your Weakest Posts by Yoast SEO and Readability Scores with AI

Get your Yoast SEO and readability scores in one list, see which posts need work first, and get the specific changes that would help, without anything being edited.

Difficulty Beginner
Time ~5 min

Prerequisites

A connected site running Yoast SEO 28.6 or newer (the free version works) on WordPress 6.9 or newer, with Yoast's SEO and readability analysis switched on (they are by default). Yoast only offers these abilities on a production site (WordPress environment type production, the default); a staging or local copy set to another environment type shows none.

The prompt
I use Yoast SEO on my WordPress site. Show me which posts need SEO work first. The scores cover published, indexed blog posts only, so pages, drafts, and posts set to noindex are not in them. Use only read-only tools and do not edit anything. Run the yoast-seo/get-seo-scores and yoast-seo/get-readability-scores abilities with number_of_posts set to 100, and match the two lists by post title. Give me one table, worst first, with post, SEO score, readability score, and focus keyphrase. Then group the posts: no focus keyphrase, a red or orange score on either analysis, and green on both. A score of na means Yoast has no result, and never counts as failing. For the SEO score, an empty focus keyphrase is the reason; if there is a keyphrase, the post has not been analyzed in the editor since it was set. For the readability score, na means the post has never been analyzed in the editor. If both lists come back empty, tell me Yoast has not indexed my posts yet and that Yoast SEO, Tools, SEO data optimization fixes it. For the five weakest posts, find each one with the REST API, read its content, and give me the two or three concrete changes most likely to improve its scores, such as where the keyphrase is missing, sentences or paragraphs that run long, or a section with no subheading. Remind me that the scores only update after I open a post in the editor and click Update.

Run the “Find Your Weakest Posts by Yoast SEO and Readability Scores with AI” recipe from the WPVibe cookbook on my connected site.

Yoast grades every post with two colored dots, one for SEO and one for readability, and on a busy site nobody looks at them after publish day. Red and orange dots pile up in the posts list. Working out which ones matter, and what would actually fix them, takes an afternoon of clicking into posts one at a time.

The AI reads the SEO and readability scores for your most recently modified posts through Yoast’s own abilities, along with each post’s focus keyphrase. It sorts them into one list: posts with no focus keyphrase at all, posts that need work, and posts that are fine. For the five weakest it reads the post and tells you the two or three changes most likely to move the score, in plain English. It changes nothing.

Paste the prompt as it is. Two honest limits. Yoast calculates these scores in the editor when a post is saved, so a post edited some other way keeps its old score until someone opens it and clicks Update, and a post that was never analyzed has no score at all. And the list covers published, indexed blog posts only, up to the 100 most recently modified, so pages, drafts, and posts set to noindex are not in it. If it comes back empty on a site where Yoast was installed recently, run the SEO data optimization under Yoast SEO, Tools first.

Outcome

A ranked list of your weakest posts by Yoast SEO and readability score, with the specific changes to make in each.
