Match your Instagram feed to your site’s design with AI
Set colors, columns, header and buttons on an Instagram Feed Pro feed so it looks like it belongs on your site, with the old values kept in the chat.
Prerequisites
A connected site running Smash Balloon Instagram Feed Pro 6.14.0 or newer on WordPress 6.9 or newer, with MCP Write Access turned on under Instagram Feed > Settings > General, and an existing feed.
I use Smash Balloon Instagram Feed Pro. Restyle the Instagram feed [feed name or id] to match my site. First run get-feed and list, in the chat, the current value of every setting you are about to change, so I can ask you to put them back. Here is what I want: the color palette set with set-color-palette to [inherit, so it uses my theme's colors] [or: custom, with background [#hex] and link color [#hex]]; and with update-feed-settings, [3] columns on desktop, [2] on mobile, [9] posts, a [centered] header, and Load More and Follow buttons in [#hex] with [white] text. Do not change anything else. Show me the planned changes and wait for my yes before writing anything. If an ability says AI write access is disabled, stop and tell me to turn on MCP Write Access under Instagram Feed > Settings > General. Afterwards, quote what Instagram Feed reported as updated, ignored and warnings, and give me the link to a page that shows this feed so I can look.
Skip pasting the full prompt. Drop this into your AI on a site that already has WPVibe:
Run the “Match your Instagram feed to your site’s design with AI” recipe from the WPVibe cookbook on my connected site.
An Instagram feed dropped onto a page with the default look rarely matches the rest of the site. The buttons are the wrong blue, the grid is four columns in a three-column layout, and the header style fights the theme. Fixing it means opening the Feed Builder and clicking through a long customizer, one setting at a time, checking the preview after each.
The AI reads the feed’s current settings first and writes the old values into the chat, so anything it changes can be put back. It shows you the planned changes and waits for your yes. Then it sets the palette with Instagram Feed’s set-color-palette ability, either inheriting your theme’s colors or using the exact hex values you give it, and changes columns, post count, header and button colors with update-feed-settings. Instagram Feed reports what it saved, what it ignored and why, and any setting that will not take effect, and the AI passes that on word for word.
Name the feed and describe the look you want, with hex codes if you have them. Feed settings apply to the live feed straight away; there is no draft, which is why the prompt asks for the old values and your yes first. A custom palette needs at least one custom color or Instagram Feed rejects it. Carousel options are ignored until an active license key is entered.
Outcome
The feed restyled to your colors and layout, with Instagram Feed's own report of every change and the previous values saved in the chat.
