Remove or Disconnect a Site from WPVibe

You remove a site from WPVibe on your Account page or by asking your AI. Removing a site changes nothing in WordPress except the password WPVibe used: your content, settings and the WPVibe plugin stay as they are.

Remove a site

On your Account page

  1. Sign in to your Account page and click Check connections and troubleshoot.
  2. Find the site’s card and click Remove site. It removes the site straight away, with no second confirmation, so check the address on the card first.
  3. Read the note at the top of the page. It tells you whether WPVibe also revoked its Application Password on the site (below).

From your AI

  1. In Claude, ChatGPT or any client with WPVibe connected, ask: Remove example.com from WPVibe. If you aren’t sure how the site was saved, ask your AI to list your sites first and use the address exactly as listed.
  2. Read the answer. It tells you whether WPVibe also revoked its Application Password on the site (below).

Removing a site does not count against your daily allowance.

What removing does

  • WPVibe removes the Application Password it saved for the site from its records, so your AI can no longer work on that site.
  • WPVibe also tries to revoke that Application Password on the site itself. If the site can’t be reached, or the password was already gone, WPVibe says so. In that case, log in to wp-admin, open Users > Profile for the user you connected with, and revoke the WPVibe entry under Application Passwords.
  • If your hosting company set up the connection for you, WPVibe doesn’t revoke the password on the site. WPVibe says so; revoke it in wp-admin as above if you want it gone.
  • If the same site is also saved under another spelling, such as with and without www, WPVibe tells you: your AI names it, and the Account page keeps its card in the list. Remove that one too, or it keeps serving the site.

Deactivating the plugin doesn’t disconnect the site

Deactivating or deleting the WPVibe plugin does not remove the site from WPVibe and does not revoke the Application Password. Your AI can still reach the site through WordPress’s REST API, with fewer tools. To cut access completely, do both:

  • Remove the site from WPVibe, on your Account page or through your AI.
  • Check Users > Profile > Application Passwords for that user, and revoke any WPVibe entry still there.

Revoking the Application Password in wp-admin on its own also stops your AI from signing in to the site. The site stays listed on your WPVibe account until you remove it.

Removing WPVibe from your AI app

Removing the WPVibe connector from Claude, ChatGPT or another app doesn’t remove your sites. They stay on your WPVibe account, ready for the next time you connect. To disconnect a site, remove it on your Account page as above; that works with or without the connector.

The same Account page, under AI apps signed in to this account, lists each app signed in to your WPVibe account, with its name and when it signed in. The same app can appear more than once, so check the date before you click Revoke: it signs that app out of WPVibe, including in a chat you have open now. It can sign in again only through your email. Revoking an app doesn’t remove any sites.

Connect it again later

Ask your AI to connect the site, then approve the link while you are logged in to wp-admin. WPVibe creates a fresh Application Password. Removing and reconnecting is also how you switch the WordPress user WPVibe acts as (see When Your AI Says WPVibe Can’t Do Something) or fix a site saved under the wrong address (see Site Connection Errors).

Leaving WPVibe altogether

Sign in to your Account page and choose Delete my account. WPVibe emails you a link that works once, within 24 hours. The page it opens lists your sites and offers two choices: Delete my account, which disconnects every site, revokes the Application Passwords WPVibe used where the site allows it, and erases the account; or Only disconnect my sites, which keeps the account. Afterwards, check Users > Profile > Application Passwords on any site the page says it could not revoke.

Some accounts can’t use this page yet. When you choose Delete my account, WPVibe tells you why instead of sending the link:

  • On a paid plan: cancel first under Manage plan & billing on your Account page. The plan stays yours until the end of the period you paid for; come back after that and delete the account here.
  • A subscription that could still bill (for example an unpaid or unfinished one), or WPVibe couldn’t confirm with Stripe just then that there is none: check Manage plan & billing and try again in a few minutes. If it keeps saying so, email [email protected] from your account’s address and a person will finish it.
  • You run an agency with client accounts: email [email protected] from your account’s address so we can hand your clients off before deleting.
