Every Ninja Forms ability

Ninja Forms registers these with the WordPress Abilities API under the ninjaforms namespace. Your AI finds them with discover_abilities and calls them with run_ability. WPVibe asks for your approval only when an ability is marked destructive and deletes something or runs code; everything else runs as soon as your AI calls it. Verified means we ran it on a live install of v3.15.6. Registered means a fresh install of v3.15.5 ships it and we have not run it yet.

Requires Ninja Forms 3.15.6 or newer on WordPress 6.9 or newer, with an administrator account. Nothing to switch on: Ninja Forms' abilities are on as soon as the plugin is active. Tested on Ninja Forms 3.15.6, the free plugin.

What we learned testing it

Behavior the ability descriptions do not mention.

  • Ninja Forms has no draft forms: a form accepts submissions once it exists. Keeping it on a draft page keeps it out of sight, not closed, so build on a draft page and publish when you are ready.
  • Deleting a form, field, action, calculation or submission goes to WPVibe's approval page in your browser first (tested). Once approved, a deleted form takes its fields, actions and submissions with it. A deleted submission goes to the trash unless the AI asks for it to be deleted for good (the trash tested).
  • Three things run at once, with no approval page: changing Ninja Forms' settings (captcha keys, delete data on uninstall), placing a form on a page (a new page is published unless the AI asks for a draft, which the recipes here always do), and resending a saved submission by email to any address the AI names. Ask your AI to confirm the address with you first.
  • Reorder fields only with the field ids get-form lists for that form, each with its position, and check the form afterwards. Ninja Forms 3.15.6 does not check that a field belongs to the form, and given a plain list of ids it read the list positions as field ids and moved fields on other forms (both tested).
  • A calculated price is worked out in the visitor's browser. Ninja Forms does not save it with the submission or fill it into emails unless it is copied into a hidden field, which the quote recipe does (tested).
  • Resending a saved submission by email does not fill in merge tags: the message is sent exactly as written.
  • Listing submissions gives dates and status only, for every submission of the form; the answers come from reading a submission or exporting the form as CSV.
