What your AI can do with Otter Blocks

One connection gives your assistant structured, permission-checked access to the whole site.

Emails that never arrive

Every form's email checked: off, going to the admin email or an old address, sent from Gmail, failing or replaced by a mailing list; fixed a form at a time with your yes.

Messages that never reached you

The visitors whose form message failed to send or went to the wrong inbox, with what they asked and a reply drafted for each.

Thank-you page

A thank-you page drafted from your words and set as the form's redirect, so you can count each lead.

Monthly submissions report

Submissions per form this month and last, the forms that got nothing, the most-picked answers and failed emails.

Leads and spam

Submissions sorted into customers, questions and spam, with replies drafted for the customers. Nothing changed.

Things to ask

Paste any of these into Claude or ChatGPT once Otter Blocks is connected.

“Emails from my contact form stopped arriving. Find out why.”
“Which form messages from this month never reached my inbox?”
“Send people who fill in my booking form to a thank-you page.”
“How many submissions did each of my forms get this month compared with last month?”
“Sort this week's form submissions into leads and spam.”

“Emails from my contact form stopped arriving. Find out why.”

Verified Otter Blocks recipes

Copy-paste playbooks, each one tested on a live Otter Blocks install before it ships.

Every Otter Blocks ability

Otter Blocks registers these with the WordPress Abilities API under the otter namespace. Your AI finds them with discover_abilities and calls them with run_ability. WPVibe asks for your approval only when an ability is marked destructive and deletes something or runs code; everything else runs as soon as your AI calls it. Verified means we ran it on a live install of v3.2.8. Registered means a fresh install of v3.2.8 ships it and we have not run it yet.

Requires Otter Blocks 3.2.8 or newer on WordPress 6.9 or newer, with an administrator account. The abilities are on as soon as Otter is active. Tested on the free Otter Blocks 3.2.8.

What we learned testing it

Behavior the ability descriptions do not mention.

  • Reading submissions needs a capability Otter gives administrators when one opens the WordPress dashboard. Installed over WP-CLI, the ability was refused for the administrator until Otter granted it (tested); opening any wp-admin page once does that.
  • Otter saves every submission before it sends the email. When the email fails, the submission is marked failed and the visitor sees an error instead of your thank-you message (tested).
  • A form whose email is switched off still marks its submissions complete, because nothing failed. So does a form emailing an old address. The AI checks the form's settings, not just the status (tested).
  • A form connected to Mailchimp or Brevo with the Submit Action Subscribe Only adds people to the list and sends you no email. The fix-emails recipe finds those; the action is changed in the block editor, since a consent box comes with it.
  • With no address set, a form emails the site admin email and sends from it too. Clearing a setting through the AI brings its default back (tested).
  • Filtering submissions by form needs Otter Pro. On the free version the AI reads all of them and groups them by form, newest first, with no date filter (tested).
  • Submission times come back in UTC. The recipes turn them into your site's time zone.
  • The AI changes a form's email and messages, not its fields, captcha or mailing list. Those stay in the block editor. If the form's page was open in the editor before the AI's change, reload it before saving: saving it there writes the old form settings back.
  • Forms in widget areas are not found by Otter's abilities, though their submissions are. The recipes name them by the page they were sent from.

Verified, and kept that way

Works with AI is WPVibe’s verification program. Every ability marked verified was run on a live Otter Blocks install, and we rescan WordPress.org weekly so a release that adds or removes abilities shows up here before it surprises you.
