Cookbook WooCommerce Botiga

Configure Your Botiga Storefront with AI

Turn a description of what you sell into tailored Botiga settings for product cards, single-product pages, the mini cart, and search.

Difficulty Intermediate
Time ~15 min

Prerequisites

The Botiga theme 2.4.8 or newer with WooCommerce, and a connected site. Turn on both switches under Botiga > Settings > AI MCP: Enable Abilities, and Enable Edit Abilities. Reads work with only the first one on; writes need both.

The prompt
My site runs the Botiga theme with WooCommerce. Use Botiga's abilities for this session and discover them first.

Here is my business: [what you sell, who buys it, and the feel you want, for example "handmade ceramics sold in small batches to people who care about craft, calm and warm, lots of white space, photography doing the work"].

Start read-only. Run botiga/get-site-capabilities and tell me which Botiga edition and integrations this site is running. Then run botiga/list-sections and read the current values for these four sections: botiga_section_shop_archive_product_card, botiga_section_single_product_layout, botiga_section_shop_cart, and botiga_section_shop_search.

Then recommend a configuration for those four areas, naming each setting and why it suits this store. Before you recommend any value, check the edition you found. Botiga marks some choices as Pro only, and on the free edition a write of a Pro value is accepted and saved but has no effect on the front end. Do not recommend a value my edition cannot render, and tell me when the option I would want is Pro only.

Record the current values and wait for my go-ahead. Then apply the settings in four stages, one section at a time, and after each stage give me a storefront URL to check and confirm the new values actually read back. When you are done, list every setting you changed with its original value so I can undo any of it.

Run the “Configure Your Botiga Storefront with AI” recipe from the WPVibe cookbook on my connected site.

Fine-tuning a WooCommerce storefront by hand means moving between Customizer panels, comparing dozens of options, and holding in your head how each one changes the path from browsing to checkout. Product cards, the single-product page, the mini cart, and search are the four places that decide how fast a customer finds a product and buys it, and they live in four different screens.

The AI starts read-only. It asks Botiga which edition and integrations are running, maps the sections it can configure, and reads the current values before proposing anything. You see each recommended setting with the reason behind it, and nothing changes until you say so. After that it applies the settings one section at a time and hands you a storefront URL after each stage, so you are checking four small changes rather than one large one.

Read the plan before approving it, and keep the list of original values the AI gives you at the end, because that list is your undo. One thing to watch on the free edition: Botiga will accept a Pro-only value, report it as saved, and then render the default anyway. The prompt asks the AI to check your edition first for that reason, but if a change reads back as saved and you still see no difference on the front end, a Pro-only option is the likely cause.

Outcome

A Botiga storefront with product cards, single-product pages, mini-cart behavior, and search tailored to your business, with every changed setting listed next to its original value.
