Enroll Students in Your Course with AI
Turn a list of names and emails into student accounts enrolled in your course, in one pass instead of one at a time.
Prerequisites
A connected site running LifterLMS 10.1 or newer, a published course to enroll into, and a list of students who expect access. Your site must be able to send email for students to set their passwords.
I use LifterLMS on my WordPress site. Enroll these students in my course [course name]: [list each person's name and email]. Use the LifterLMS abilities for every write. First confirm the course exists and is published; if it is a draft, stop and tell me instead of enrolling anyone, because LifterLMS will enroll people into a draft course and they would find nothing to read. Then work out which of these people already have a WordPress account, by searching the site's full user list by email address rather than the LifterLMS student list: the student list only knows people LifterLMS has already touched, so an existing subscriber or past customer will look new when they are not. Show me the accounts you would need to create and wait for my confirmation before creating anything. Create only the genuinely new people, as students, and do not set or send passwords. Then enroll everyone on my list in the course, existing accounts included, and if someone is already enrolled leave them alone and note it. When you are done, give me a roster marking each person as newly created, existing, or already enrolled, with their username and enrollment status. Finish with the login page URL: use the LifterLMS account page if the site has one set, and if it does not, say plainly that you are falling back to the default WordPress login page and that I should check it myself. Then add a two-line note I can paste into an email telling my students how to set their password.

Somebody signs up outside your site, a cohort arrives from a webinar, a client hands you a spreadsheet of employees who need training. Getting those people into your LifterLMS course means creating each account and each enrollment by hand in wp-admin, and the longer the list, the longer it sits in your inbox.

Nothing is emailed automatically, so send your students the login page link yourself and tell them to use the Lost your password link with their email address to set one. That needs a site that can send email, so test that first if you are not sure.

Every person on your list has an account and an active enrollment, and you have a roster plus a ready-to-send note telling students how to log in.
