Find Stalled Students and Draft Re-engagement with AI

Find the people who enrolled and stopped, then get a personal re-engagement email drafted for each one.

Difficulty Intermediate
Time ~15 min

Prerequisites

A connected site running LifterLMS 10.1 or newer and a course that has been running long enough for students to fall behind.

The prompt
I use LifterLMS on my WordPress site. Find the stalled students in my course [course name] and draft outreach to them. Treat a student as stalled if they enrolled more than [30] days ago and are still under [25] percent complete. Use the LifterLMS abilities and only read; do not change enrollments, progress, or student records. Get the roster in one call with the student list ability, filtering by students enrolled in that course and passing context edit so you get names and email addresses. Take each student's enrollment date from the course enrollments ability, not from the student record: the date on the student record is when their WordPress account was created, which is often the same day for everybody and would quietly tell you that nobody is stalled. Count only students whose enrollment is currently active. Then check each student's progress in the course. Show me the stalled students first, as a table of name, email, enrollment date, and percent complete, and stop there so I can look at it. When I say go, work out the lesson order for the course one time: get the course content to list its sections in order, then list the lessons in each section, ordering by the order field. Then for each stalled student, check their progress lesson by lesson in that order and stop at the first lesson they have not completed. Write a short re-engagement email for each person in a warm and plain tone, naming that specific lesson and linking straight to it. Do not send anything. If the course has more than 50 students, tell me the total and work through the first 50.

Skip pasting the full prompt. Drop this into your AI on a site that already has WPVibe:

Run the “Find Stalled Students and Draft Re-engagement with AI” recipe from the WPVibe cookbook on my connected site.

Every course has them. People who enrolled with real intent, watched the first lesson or two, and never came back. They are not asking for a refund and they are not going to email you, so they sit quietly in the roster until the day they churn.

The AI finds them for you. It reads the roster and each student’s progress through the LifterLMS abilities, picks out everyone who enrolled before a date you set and is still under a percentage you set, and shows you that list before it writes a word. Then it drafts a short re-engagement email for each person, naming the lesson they should come back to. It only reads your site, and it does not send anything.

Paste the prompt with your course and your own definition of stalled. Read the drafts before you send them, especially the lesson names, because an email that points somebody at the wrong lesson does more damage than no email at all. Send them with whatever you already use for email: WPVibe writes the copy and pulls the addresses, but your WordPress site is not a sending platform.

Outcome

A list of the students who stopped, and a personal re-engagement email drafted for each one, ready for you to review and send.
