Noindex Thank-You and Utility Pages in Rank Math with AI

Keep thank-you, confirmation and login pages out of search, set through Rank Math and checked on the live page.

Difficulty Beginner
Time ~5 min

Prerequisites

A site connected to WPVibe running Rank Math SEO 1.0.279 or newer (tested on 1.0.280, the free version) on WordPress 6.9 or newer.

The prompt
My WordPress site uses Rank Math SEO. Keep my utility pages out of search results.

1. List my published pages and find the ones that are only useful after an action: [thank-you, order confirmation, download, login or account pages, or name your own]. For each, give me the title, ID and URL, and fetch the page to show its current robots meta tag. Skip any that already say noindex. If my site has Discourage search engines turned on in Settings, Reading, stop and tell me instead, because every page will show noindex.
2. Wait for me to confirm the list.
3. For each confirmed page, read its current robots with rank-math/get-post-seo-meta, then set noindex with POST /rankmath/v1/updateMeta and the body {"objectID": [page ID], "objectType": "post", "meta": {"rank_math_robots": ["noindex"]}}. Keep any nofollow, noarchive, noimageindex or nosnippet that get-post-seo-meta shows now, because the page's own setting replaces the post type and global defaults. Never include index or follow in the list, never send objectID 0, and change nothing else on the page.
4. Fetch each page again and confirm its robots meta tag now contains noindex. If a page still shows index, check for a page cache before reporting a failure.
5. Tell me how to undo it for any page, and that my sitemap keeps listing these pages until I open the Pages list (Posts for a post), hover the page, click Quick Edit, then Update for one of them, because Rank Math only rebuilds its sitemap on saves made in wp-admin, and on a plain install a block editor save is not one.

Run the “Noindex Thank-You and Utility Pages in Rank Math with AI” recipe from the WPVibe cookbook on my connected site.

Thank-you pages, order confirmations, login screens and internal landing pages were never meant to be found in Google, yet they end up in search results and in your sitemap, where a stranger can land on a page that only makes sense after a purchase. Setting noindex on each one is a few clicks per page that nobody gets around to.

The AI lists the pages that look like utility pages, reads each one’s current robots tag from the live page, and waits for you to confirm the list. Then it sets noindex on the ones you approve through Rank Math’s own save route, the same Robots Meta setting as the Advanced tab in Rank Math’s editor panel (switch Rank Math to Advanced mode if you do not see that tab), keeps the other robots values the page shows now, and reads each page again to confirm the tag changed.

Confirm the list yourself; the AI should not guess which pages matter. The robots tag changes on the next page load (clear your page cache if you use one), and that tag is what search engines read. Rank Math caches its sitemap and changes made through the AI do not refresh it, so the pages stay listed there until you open the Pages list (Posts for a post), hover the page, click Quick Edit, then Update for any one of them. You can switch any page back in the same Advanced tab.

Outcome

Each page you confirmed carries a noindex robots tag set in Rank Math, verified on the live page.
