Set Up Meta Conversions API in PixelYourSite with AI

The right Meta token, where it goes in PixelYourSite, and a check that it is on. You paste the token yourself.

Difficulty Intermediate
Time ~15 min

Prerequisites

A site connected to WPVibe running PixelYourSite 11.4.4 or newer (tested on the free 11.4.4) on WordPress 6.9 or newer, with an administrator account. In PixelYourSite, open MCP and turn on Allow other MCP servers to use PixelYourSite tools; until then the AI sees only one PixelYourSite tool, or the tools refuse. Once on, PixelYourSite shows it as Critical because it opens these tools to any WordPress user with PixelYourSite access. A Meta pixel set up in PixelYourSite, and admin access to the Meta Business account that owns it.

The prompt
My site uses PixelYourSite. Help me set up Meta's Conversions API. Do not change any settings yourself.

1. Run pixelyoursite/mcp-access-info. If external_access_enabled is false, tell me to open PixelYourSite, then MCP, and turn on Allow other MCP servers to use PixelYourSite tools, and stop.
2. Run pixelyoursite/get-platform-pixels. If Meta (facebook) has no pixel ID or is not enabled, tell me to set up the pixel in PixelYourSite first and stop. Tell me whether Conversions API delivery is on (capi enabled) and whether a token is saved (token_present). If both are true, say it already looks set up, and go to step 5.
3. Run pixelyoursite/get-credential-setup-instructions with platform facebook. Walk me through it step by step, quoting admin_ui_path exactly, and tell me the pitfall it names. Meta moves its screens around: if mine do not match, help me find where to generate a Conversions API access token for this pixel in Meta Events Manager, still from a System User if I can. Tell me the token is shown only once, so I should paste it straight into PixelYourSite and never into this chat.
4. Tell me to open PixelYourSite's Dashboard, find the Meta pixel's settings, turn on Token-based Conversion API (not the Meta-Enabled Conversion API switch above it), paste the token in Conversion API Token and save. Then wait until I say done.
5. Run pixelyoursite/get-tracking-audit and get-platform-pixels again and confirm capi shows enabled with a token saved. Tell me this only shows a token is saved, not that Meta accepts it. To check: in Meta Events Manager open Test Events and copy the test code, paste it into Test Event Code in PixelYourSite's Dashboard, load a page of my site, and look for server events in Test Events; then remove the code (PixelYourSite also clears it after 24 hours).

Skip pasting the full prompt. Drop this into your AI on a site that already has WPVibe:

Run the “Set Up Meta Conversions API in PixelYourSite with AI” recipe from the WPVibe cookbook on my connected site.

Ad blockers and browser privacy settings stop many pixel events from reaching Meta. The Conversions API sends the same events from your server as well, and PixelYourSite supports it for free, but getting the right token from Meta Business Manager is where most people give up or paste the wrong one.

The AI checks your Meta pixel and whether the Conversions API is already on, then walks you through creating the right kind of token in Meta, where to paste it in PixelYourSite, and which switch to turn on. You paste the token yourself; the free PixelYourSite does not let an AI save it. When you are done the AI checks that it is saved and switched on.

Use a System User token, not your personal one, which expires and stops the events without any error. PixelYourSite can only see that a token is saved, not that Meta accepts it, so finish with a test event in Meta Events Manager.

Outcome

Meta Conversions API switched on in PixelYourSite with a token saved, ready for a test event in Meta Events Manager.
