Set Up VIP Tiers for Your Best Customers with RewardsWP and AI
Tiers by amount spent, points or referrals, with perks and point multipliers, and a check of where every member landed.
Prerequisites
A WooCommerce store connected to WPVibe running RewardsWP 1.6 or newer (free or Pro; tested on Pro 1.6.0) on WordPress 6.9 or newer, with an administrator account. The RewardsWP Pro plan for VIP tiers (not Basic or Plus). Changes need RewardsWP's write access on: RewardsWP > Tools > AI MCP > Enable MCP Write Access.
My WooCommerce store runs RewardsWP. Set up VIP tiers for my best customers, qualifying by [amount spent, lifetime points, points over a period, or completed referrals]. My ideas: [for example three tiers, the top one with 1.5x points and a $10 welcome gift], or suggest some. 1. Run get_ability_info for each RewardsWP ability this uses: rewardswp/get-program-settings, rewardswp/get-setting-choices, rewardswp/list-members, rewardswp/list-vip-tiers, rewardswp/add-vip-tier, rewardswp/update-vip-tier, rewardswp/update-vip-settings and rewardswp/get-vip-reevaluation-status. If one is not found, stop and tell me this needs RewardsWP 1.6 or newer on WordPress 6.9 or newer. If any of rewardswp/add-vip-tier, rewardswp/update-vip-tier and rewardswp/update-vip-settings shows meta.mcp.public false, RewardsWP is not letting AI make that change (not even a dry run): tell me to switch on Enable MCP Write Access under RewardsWP > Tools > AI MCP (and, if it lists separate permissions for each kind of change there, to allow these), and stop. Every RewardsWP change takes a reason (a few words, kept for my admins) and a dry_run: run it with dry_run true first, show me its changes, side_effects and warnings word for word, and wait for my yes before running it again without dry_run. 2. Run rewardswp/get-setting-choices: if vip.available is false, tell me the plan it needs and stop. Note the qualification types, badge icons, entry reward types and limits it allows. Run rewardswp/list-vip-tiers for any tiers that already exist and whether VIP is on. 3. To size the tiers, run rewardswp/list-members with statuses ["active", "guest"], number 100, paging through has_more up to 500 members, and read total for the number of members. Then read the qualifying measure, highest first: for amount spent, rest_api GET /wc-analytics/reports/customers with orderby total_spend, order desc, per_page 100 (page up to 500), keeping only members' emails (if that route is missing, run rewardswp/get-member with include ["orders"] on each member read, up to 100, and read orders.total_spend); for lifetime points, rewardswp/list-top-members with rank_by points_earned, number 100 and no date; for points over a period, the same with date covering that period; for referrals, the list-members call with orderby completed_referrals, order DESC. If total is larger than what you read, say the percentages are estimates from the members read. Suggest thresholds that put roughly the top 30%, 10% and 3% of members in the upper tiers, with the starting tier at 0, and estimate how many would land in each. Thresholds are whole numbers in the qualifying measure (store currency for spend) and no two tiers can share one. 4. Show me the tiers (name, threshold, description, benefits, badge_icon, multiplier for purchases, entry_rewards). Benefits are only shown to members; multiplier and entry_rewards are what they get. Wait for my yes. 5. On my yes, run rewardswp/add-vip-tier for each new tier (rewardswp/update-vip-tier with tier_id for one that exists), each with dry_run true first and then for real. Then rewardswp/update-vip-settings with enabled true, qualification_type and a reason, dry run first. Tell me that switching it on sorts every member in the background without emails or entry rewards. 6. Run rewardswp/get-vip-reevaluation-status until state is idle (it runs in the background; on a quiet site it can wait for the next visit, so if it is still running after a few checks, tell me and stop). Report promoted, demoted and unchanged, then rewardswp/list-vip-tiers for members per tier. 7. To undo, run rewardswp/update-vip-settings with enabled false and a reason; the tiers stay saved for later.
Skip pasting the full prompt. Drop this into your AI on a site that already has WPVibe:
Run the “Set Up VIP Tiers for Your Best Customers with RewardsWP and AI” recipe from the WPVibe cookbook on my connected site.
Your best customers spend ten times what everyone else does and get the same points. VIP tiers fix that, but choosing the thresholds, the perks and the multipliers, and then knowing who lands where, is a lot of guessing in a settings screen.
The AI reads what your members have actually spent, suggests tiers from it, and builds each tier and the VIP switch as a dry run first. On your yes it saves them, then checks where every member landed once RewardsWP has re-sorted them in the background.
Members placed in a tier when VIP is first switched on get no email and no entry gift; those go to members who reach a tier later. VIP tiers need the RewardsWP Pro plan; Basic and Plus don’t include them.
Outcome
VIP is on with the tiers you approved, and you know how many members sit in each.
