Easy Digital Downloads registers these with the WordPress Abilities API under the edd namespace. Your AI finds them with discover_abilities and calls them with run_ability; writes go through WPVibe’s approval gate. Verified means we ran it on a live install of v3.7.1. Registered means a fresh install of v3.7.0 ships it and we have not run it yet.

Requires Easy Digital Downloads 3.7.1 or newer on WordPress 6.9 or newer. Write abilities stay off until you enable AI write access under Downloads, Tools, AI.

What we learned testing it

Behavior the ability descriptions do not mention. WPVibe’s Easy Digital Downloads skill already accounts for each of these.

  • Write abilities are off by default. Turn on AI write access under Downloads, Tools, AI before creating or changing anything; read abilities work without it.
  • Creating an order, changing an order status, and deleting a discount are marked destructive, so WPVibe asks for your approval in the browser first.
  • Order lists leave out line items. Look up a single order by ID to see what was bought.
  • Discount dates are entered in the store timezone and returned in UTC, so they can look a few hours off.
  • Product abilities set the name, single price, status, and copy. Download files and variable prices are set on the product edit screen.
  • Refunds cannot be issued through an ability. Easy Digital Downloads keeps those on the order screen in the admin.
  • edd/discount-update takes discount_id, while most other abilities take id.

Verified, and kept that way

Works with AI is WPVibe’s verification program. Every ability marked verified was run on a live Easy Digital Downloads install, and we rescan WordPress.org weekly so a release that adds or removes abilities shows up here before it surprises you.
