Turn Off Comments in WordPress with AI
Switch comments off everywhere or only where you choose, keep WooCommerce reviews, and check the form is really gone.
Prerequisites
A site connected to WPVibe running Disable Comments 2.9 or newer (tested on 2.9.0, the free plugin) on WordPress 6.9 or newer.
My WordPress site uses the Disable Comments plugin. Turn off comments [everywhere / only on pages and media / on these content types: ...]. 1. Run discover_abilities with category disable-comments. If the ability this needs is not there, stop and tell me to install or update the free Disable Comments plugin (2.9 or newer, on WordPress 6.9 or newer). 2. Run disable-comments/get-status and tell me where comments are off now. If is_network_active is true, stop and tell me this recipe does not cover multisite networks. If role_exclusion_enabled or conditional_rules_enabled is true, tell me that some users or posts follow their own rules and that those stay as they are. 3. set-status replaces the whole list, so start from disabled_post_types and keep those unless I said to turn them back on. Add the content types I asked for, from available_post_types. If woocommerce_active is true, do not add product unless I said reviews should go too, so product reviews keep working; if product is already in disabled_post_types, keep it. Use mode everywhere only if I asked for everywhere and you are not leaving anything out, and tell me that it also turns off product reviews, covers content types added later, and blocks reading comments through the REST API (for you too, unless my role is exempt) and the block editor's notes. Show me the final list and wait for my yes. 4. On my yes, run disable-comments/set-status with mode post_types and that list (or mode everywhere) and confirm true. Keep previous_mode and previous_disabled_post_types from the result, and tell me about any unknown_post_types. 5. Fetch one published post or page of a type you switched off, one that had comments before if there is one, with get_page_html, selector #commentform and max_length 2000. A notice that the selector matched nothing means the form is gone. If you did not switch products off, fetch one product the same way: the selector should match, unless product_reviews_disabled was already true or run_wp_cli option get woocommerce_review_rating_verification_required says yes (then only logged-in buyers see the form). The fetch skips the page cache; if the form is gone here but visitors still see it, tell me to purge my host or CDN cache. If it is still here and role_exclusion_enabled was true, logged-out visitors may be exempt in Disable Comments' settings; otherwise tell me my theme may print its own comment form. 6. Tell me that existing comments are hidden (unless Disable Comments is set to show existing comments), not deleted, and come back if comments are turned on again. Tell me the previous setting (previous_mode and previous_disabled_post_types) so I can undo it: run set-status with them, or mode off to turn comments back on everywhere.

Run the “Turn Off Comments in WordPress with AI” recipe from the WPVibe cookbook on my connected site.
Most business sites never wanted comments. They come on by default, collect spam on old posts, pages and image attachments, and closing them post by post never quite finishes the job.
The AI reads where comments are on today, proposes which content types to switch off, and waits for your yes. Then it switches them off with Disable Comments’ own ability, checks a page to confirm the comment form is gone, and tells you the previous setting so you can put it back.
On a WooCommerce store, product reviews are comments too. The recipe leaves products out unless you say reviews should go, because Disable Comments’ “everywhere” mode turns reviews off with everything else. Existing comments are hidden (unless Disable Comments is set to show existing comments), not deleted; this recipe deletes them.
Outcome
Comments are off where you chose, the comment form is gone from those pages, and you know how to undo it.
