Every Astra ability

Astra registers these with the WordPress Abilities API under the astra namespace. Your AI finds them with discover_abilities and calls them with run_ability. WPVibe asks for your approval only when an ability is marked destructive and deletes something or runs code; everything else runs as soon as your AI calls it. Verified means we ran it on a live install of v4.14.0. Registered means a fresh install ships it and we have not run it yet.

Requires Astra 4.12.6 or newer. From Astra 4.13, turn on Enable Abilities in the MCP tab of the Astra menu. The abilities need WordPress 6.9 or newer, or the Abilities API plugin. Astra Pro settings are not covered here.

What we learned testing it

Behavior the ability descriptions do not mention.

  • From Astra 4.13 the abilities are off until the site owner turns on Enable Abilities in the MCP tab of the Astra menu. Without them, WPVibe still makes a change one setting at a time and offers to turn the switch on.
  • The abilities need WordPress 6.9 or newer, or the Abilities API plugin.
  • Astra changes are live as soon as they save. WPVibe's draft theme preview does not hold them, so try a site-wide change on a staging copy first.
  • On a site that has never saved a palette, update-global-palette fills every slot you leave out with black. get-global-palette then reports black for all nine. Send all nine slots in one call.
  • No ability sets the header text colors: the site title, menu and mobile menu icon. WPVibe writes those settings directly, so a dark header keeps readable text.
  • A button preset alone does not round the corners. Set the corner radius directly.
  • If the site owner turns off Enable Edit Abilities, WPVibe reads Astra settings but does not change them.
  • Every Astra change returns undo commands. To undo several changes, run them newest first. The steps that delete a setting ask for your approval.
