What your AI can do with Elementor Website Builder

One connection gives your assistant structured, permission-checked access to the whole site.

Pages built with Elementor's own tools

New pages are created and built through Elementor's abilities: layout, headings, text, buttons, images, tabs, and accordions, saved as drafts you publish when ready.

Brand colors and fonts

Change the Site Settings global colors and fonts, or the newer design variables, and every widget that uses them updates at once.

Site-wide styles and classes

Set default styles for headings, text, and buttons on atomic elements, and manage the reusable classes in the Class Manager.

Page settings in bulk

Hide the theme title or switch pages to Full Width across many pages, keeping each page's other settings, with every change listed by page.

Read any Elementor page

Get a page's element tree, with the settings and CSS of its atomic elements, so the AI plans an edit before it makes one.

Launch checks

Find placeholder text, dead buttons, missing alt text, and doubled H1s across every Elementor page, without changing anything.

Things to ask

Paste any of these into Claude or ChatGPT once Elementor Website Builder is connected.

“Change my Elementor global colors to primary #0E3B43 and accent #FF6F61 and my heading font to Playfair Display. Show me the before and after first, then check the homepage.”
“Check every page built with Elementor for placeholder text, buttons that link to #, images without alt text, and pages with more than one H1. Read only; give me a table.”
“The theme prints the page title above my Elementor designs. Hide it on all my Elementor pages, and tell me any page where you had to switch to Full Width instead.”
“Set site-wide styles for my Elementor atomic elements: headings in Playfair Display with tight letter spacing, buttons in #C2410C with a darker hover, and smaller headings on phones.”

Up and running in three steps

1

Install WPVibe

Add the free WPVibe plugin from WordPress.org to the site running Elementor Website Builder.

2

Connect your AI

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and more. One click to authorize, and no passwords ever go in the chat.

3

Ask in plain English

“Change my Elementor global colors to primary #0E3B43 and accent #FF6F61 and my heading font to Playfair Display. Show me the before and after first, then check the homepage.”

Verified Elementor Website Builder recipes

Copy-paste playbooks, each one tested on a live Elementor Website Builder install before it ships.

Every Elementor Website Builder ability

Elementor Website Builder registers these with the WordPress Abilities API under the elementor namespace. Your AI finds them with discover_abilities and calls them with run_ability; only abilities marked destructive ask for your approval before they run. Verified means we ran it on a live install of v4.3.3. Registered means a fresh install of v4.3.3 ships it and we have not run it yet.

Requires Elementor 4.3 or newer on WordPress 6.9 or newer; free Elementor is enough. Building and editing elements uses the Atomic Editor. Elementor Pro adds site-part abilities for headers, footers, and templates, which are not covered here.

What we learned testing it

Behavior the ability descriptions do not mention.

  • Abilities need Elementor 4.3 or newer on WordPress 6.9 or newer. Earlier 4.x versions only registered them with the separate MCP Adapter plugin and a hidden experiment turned on.
  • 16 of the 26 verified abilities, everything that builds or styles atomic elements, return a 403 when the Atomic Editor is off. Turn it on in WP Admin, Elementor, Settings. On sites upgraded from older Elementor versions it is often off.
  • update-page-settings replaces the page's or the site kit's whole settings with what you send; it does not merge. Read the current settings first and send everything back with only your change, or custom colors, type sizes, container width, and breakpoints are lost.
  • Never send the page template through update-page-settings: sent alone it wipes the page's Elementor settings. Set it through the WordPress REST API instead.
  • Building and editing elements works on Elementor's newer atomic elements. Classic widgets show up in the page structure by type only, without their settings.
  • Edits to a published page went to an autosave: the live page and get-page-structure kept the old text, and after publish-document the live page still served it from Elementor's element cache. Edit published pages another way, or check the live page after publishing.
  • Global variables, global classes, and default styles belong to the whole site, not one page. Changing one restyles every page that uses it at once, with no publish step.
  • Default styles only reach atomic elements. Link defaults reach every linked atomic element, including links inside headings and paragraphs; a button without a link takes the button defaults.
  • A color set by hand on one widget lives in that page's own stylesheet, not the page HTML, so a rebrand of the global colors misses it. Search the pages' Elementor data for the old color code.
  • Hide Title only works when the theme's title uses the selector Elementor looks for. On other themes, switch the page to the Full Width template to drop the title and keep the header and footer.
  • Deleting a global variable or class runs right away, without an approval step. Ask the AI to list what it will delete before it does.
  • Creating components and size variables needs Elementor Pro; on free Elementor the component call returns a permissions error. Pro also adds abilities for headers, footers, and other site parts, which are not covered on this page.
  • Preview links expire after about five minutes and are meant for the AI to check its own work. For review, use the editor link.

Verified, and kept that way

Works with AI is WPVibe’s verification program. Every ability marked verified was run on a live Elementor Website Builder install, and we rescan WordPress.org weekly so a release that adds or removes abilities shows up here before it surprises you.
